Fruit Towers Honours
You’ll be familiar with the smoothie, a Bridget Jones favourite and a way to our Five a Day. It all started with the guys of innocent drinks at ‘Fruit Towers’ in West London. innocent ran a competition back in 2003 to find the Office Mate of the Month. My poem about my then office mate, Pat, won for her that prestigious title – and a crate of smoothies! Mmmm! Here’s a taster – of the verse that is – not, sadly, the smoothies:

Repeats of Groundforce make me happy.
But Pat likes things more thought-provoking:
archaeological digs near Woking,
a documentary on Brunel
is more her thing than Hols from Hell.
While I watch soaps or Millionaire
Pat’s renovating Queen Anne chair.
To Panorama she’s in thrall
while I am glued to fly-on-wall
showing someone making tea
in house in London W3…..
……The lovelorn, stressed and troubled
they all depend upon her
and this is why she so deserves
a Fruit Towers special honour!
